【Abstract】 Objective To study the clinical features and predictors of obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome(OSAHS)in metabolic syndrome(MS)patients, and to investigate the effect of continuous positive airway pressure(CPAP)treatment. Methods Patients with MS and/or OSAHS were recruited and assigned into four groups:MS group(n=44)。MS+OSAHS group(n=112).OSAHS group(n=46)without central obesity. 63 healthy people were select as normal control (NC group).Clinical data were collected and compared among these four groups。and in 42 cases of MS+OSAHS before and after CPAP treatment. Results The incidence of OSAHS was 71.79%(112/156)in MS group.Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that ESS scores, neck collar (NC),and the blood pressure after waking were significantly correlated with the occurrence of OSAHS in MS patients(OR=5.615,3.257,3.142,2.881).After 2,4 and 8 weeks of CPAP treatment,it was observed there were significant
decreases in ESS scores, blood pressure, FPG and weight. Conclusion MS and OSAHS had a high rate of coexist.ESS,NC and the blood pressure after waking can predict the risk of OSAHS.CPAP treatment was beneficial for MS.
