【summary】 Increasing evidences have shown that microRNAs (miRNAs) may play important roles in establishment and development of obesity. miRNAs are a class of endogenous small non-coding RNAs of 18~25 nucleotides. They regulate gene expression through post-transcriptional modification. miRNAs were involved in many biological and pathological processes in obesity, including adipocyte differentiation, hepatic lipid metabolism, and insulin resistance. In this review, miRNAs involving in adipogenesis and lipid metabolism are discussed.
